The super-groovy fable, scored by Harry Nilsson and originally narrated by Dustin Hoffman and later by Ringo Starr, aired on ABC in Feb. 1971. My dad says it was the only thing he remembers making a point to stay home and watch (did he catch the moon landing? oh hells no, there was revolution a-brewin’!).
